Using Chenille Yarn

Using Chenille Yarn

The yarn I usually use for my amigurumi plushies is 'Stylecraft Special DK'. It's very easy to use, and there are so many colours to find for different projects.

However, there is one specific type of yarn that's rather popular: Chenille yarn.

Now, I don't want to rant or anything, but I've developed a sort of love/hate relationship with this yarn. Sure, it may be satisfying to use, but it does fall apart if used too much. In fact, it can even fall apart, when you're sewing with it.

But that won't stop me from coming up with my next plan for 2026! My plan is to create and release a crochet pattern featuring this type of yarn. But just occasionally--I'll still continue to use my usual yarn. It's more likely for chenille yarn to be used for easier projects, such as this lemon whale. It wouldn't be such a good idea, if that yarn was to be used for more complex ones.
