Art VS. Artist 2024

Happy New Year! Art VS. Artist is a sort of tradition that small artists do at the end of every year. However, I kept missing out until this year, for a very good reason. I'm...not good at doing selfies. At all. Thankfully, there was one selfie that I took in April of that year, so I used that.
Anyway, here are my favourite amigurumi plushies/accessories that I made in 2024!
2024 has been quite a year for me. Mainly because I decided to sell just my own art in May. But trust me, it was the right thing to do for my business. If I hadn't made that decision, I wouldn't have joined the Community hub in Ipswich and I probably would have started doing pop up markets, either. So basically, I've just started over.
However, despite deciding to sell my own art, I haven't made as many of my Costumed Animals as I thought. Which is a shame, because you can interact with them and change them about! Though, I might change their designs and colours, which could mean they may no longer be part of my 5-Colour Sets. It might be better, if they had a category of their own.
On the other hand, I am starting to make more no-sew amigurumi plushies and patterns, thus making more beginner-friendly projects. However, my No-Sew Animal Blobs do require a lot of yarn colour changing, so that adds a bit of challenge.
And I'm not just making amigurumi plushies, anymore. I'm starting to make more crocheted bag charms as well! This is just to add a bit more of a variety to my entire collection. What I also need to add to my collection are plush patterns (not to be confused with my amigurumi patterns). But this hobby is much more limited and not as forgiving as crocheting, so there may not be as many. If you'd like to read my blog about how I do plush making, click here.
What I'm also starting to do more, is make more seasonal projects, particularly for Halloween and Christmas. In fact, I've organised them in new collections: Halloween Collection and Christmas/Winter Collection. I haven't made much for Valentine's Day and Easter, though, so that's something to look forward to.
I'm still continuing my Christmas break, so my physical items are still on draft right now. But they'll be back next Monday, 6th January 2025.
With all that said, here's to 2025 and my new future ahead of me, along with more projects and market days!
