
FREE Low-Sew Chicken Amigurumi Pattern

This is a free low-sew amigurumi pattern, based on a chicken.
Difficulty: Beginner. The pattern should be very straightforward and there are a few pieces to sew on.
Finished plush size: Approx. 11cm tall (excluding the comb)
You can use this plushie as a gift, but please do not distribute, sell or claim the pattern as your own.

- Black (Stylecraft Special DK) (100g) x1 (for embroidery only)

- Stitch marker
- Stuffing
- Tapestry needle (for sewing and embroidery)

Note: Unless instructed otherwise, this pattern is mostly done in continuous rounds. I recommend you use a stitch marker, to keep track of where you start each round.
Body/Head
Start on the body with white
Round 1: 6dc in mr (6 sts)
Round 2: [inc] x6 (12 sts)
Round 3: [dc, inc] x6 (18 sts)
Round 4: [dc, inc, dc] x6 (24 sts)
Round 5: [3dc, inc] x6 (30 sts)
Round 6: [2dc, inc, 2dc] x6 (36 sts)
Round 7: [5dc, inc] x6 (42 sts)
Round 8: [3dc, inc, 3dc] x6 (48 sts)
Rounds 9-12 (4 rounds): 48dc (48 sts)
Round 13: [5dc, dec, 5dc] x4 (44 sts)
Rounds 14-17 (4 rounds): 44dc (44 sts)
Round 18: [9dc, dec] x4 (40 sts)
Round 19: 40dc (40 sts)
Note: To make a 5tr bobble, [yo, insert the hook in the st, yo, pull through] x5, until you have 6 loops on the hook. Yo, pull through all 6 loops, leaving 1 loop on the hook.
Round 20: 19dc with white, make 5tr bobble with saffron, 20dc with white (40 sts)
Rounds 21-22 (2 rounds): 40dc (40 sts)

Stuff firmly
Start of head
Return to round 22 of the body with white. I recommend you place a stitch marker on the 12th st of round 22, before continuing.
Round 23: insert the hook in the 12th st as a dc, 17dc (18 sts + 22 unused sts)
Round 24: insert the hook in the 1st st of round 23 as a dc, 17dc (18 sts)
Round 25: [dc, dec] x6 (12 sts)
Round 26: [dec] x6 (6 sts)
FO, sew opening to close
Add more stuffing to the head
Press the opening of the body flat and sew
Wings (Make 2)
Start with white
Round 1: 6dc in mr (6 sts)
Round 2: [inc] x6 (12 sts)
Round 3: [dc, inc] x2, dc, [htr, tr] in next st, tr, [htr, dc] in next st, [dc, inc] x2 (18 sts)
Ss in next st
FO, leave a long tail for sewing
Sew one onto each side of the body on rounds 11-17. 17 sts at the front should be in between.
Comb
7ch with lipstick
Row 1: skip 1st ch from the hook, [[htr, tr, htr] in next ch, ss] x3 (12 sts)
FO, leave a long tail for sewing
Sew onto the back of the head on rounds 22-25
Eyes
With black, embroider the eyes on rounds 21-22 of the head. 4 sts should be in between the eyes.
